The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, which were just released for sale in the United States last week, have frustrated users with their excessive heating issues.

At Apple’s latest event on September 12th, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models, which were introduced, were released for sale in the United States last week. However, those who eagerly purchased the new smartphones don’t seem too pleased with their condition.

Users have complained about the excessive heating of the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, both of which have titanium coatings. Some have even mentioned that it’s sometimes difficult to hold the phone due to the heat. The smartphones tend to get hot during charging or when using specific applications, leading some users to consider returning their iPhones.

One user, Thomas Galvin, who shared his experience on social media platforms like X and Reddit, reached out to Apple customer service regarding the issue. Although customer service suggested that the heating was due to the phone being new and freshly set up, the problem hasn’t been resolved in the past few days. Galvin, a 23-year-old, mentioned that his new phone gets hotter than his previous iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Last week, a writer for The Wall Street Journal who reviewed the iPhone 15 Pro measured temperatures reaching 41°C during charging. It was also revealed that last year’s iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models experienced similar issues when subjected to temperature tests, with the 14 models reaching nearly the same temperatures.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that the heating issue may stem from the titanium coating and lighter design found only in the 15 Pro models. Heat may not dissipate as effectively in the lighter design compared to other models, and titanium is known to be a poor heat conductor.

Apple has not yet issued an official statement regarding the matter.
