Ango.ai, with a team of 11 people, received a total of $720,000 in investments over the course of 3 years leading up to the exit.

The local startup Ango.ai, founded in Ankara by Gökalp Urul and Gökhan Urul in 2020, which could be considered a barren land for artificial intelligence in the entrepreneurial world, was acquired by the American company iMerit, a leader in artificial intelligence data solutions.

Under the agreement that will bring together the expertise of these two names, the aim is to create the best platform in the field of artificial intelligence on a global scale by combining iMerit’s knowledge in artificial intelligence data solutions with Ango.ai’s competence in software and technology.

Ango, which was founded in Ankara in 2020, a year when artificial intelligence could be called particularly barren in the entrepreneurial world, by Gökalp Urul and Gökhan Urul, offered data labeling tools and solutions for artificial intelligence applications. The startup’s data labeling platform processed visual, video, text, and audio data sets quickly and securely, making them usable for artificial intelligence algorithms.

With a team of 11 people, Ango.ai received a total of $720,000 in investments over the course of 3 years leading up to the exit.

On the other hand, iMerit is a leading name in artificial intelligence data solutions. The California-based company has more than 200 global customers, including companies like Microsoft, Linkedin, eBay, Johnson & Johnson, and Autodesk. The company’s approximately 5,000 employees conduct the training of customers’ artificial intelligence algorithms.

With Ango.ai joining iMerit, Ango’s main solution, Ango Hub, was launched under the iMerit umbrella. The platform, which offers automation, labeling, and analytical tools, is offered to iMerit customers to help accelerate the development of artificial intelligence projects.

Following the completion of the acquisition agreement, Gökalp and Gökhan Urul shared their sentiments, saying, “We thank everyone who supported us on our journey, our team, our family, our mentors, and our investors, 500 Emerging Europe and QNBeyond Ventures. As part of the iMerit family, with our Ango Hub technology, we will continue to contribute even more strongly to the world’s leading artificial intelligence applications.”
